Water.
The foundation of life.
It changes states.
Ice. Water. Vapour.
What effects its change of state is : temperature.
Temperature affects the speed at which water molecules move,
the faster they move,
the less solid is water.
At 0 degrees, water freezes.
But.
It is in a see-saw state.
The ice it forms is still semi-solid.
Certainly not thick enough to skate on.
No.
It requires water to be frozen at temperatures below, I don't know, -10 c for maybe 2 weeks before ice is ready to support the weight of a person.
The water might be ice at 0 degrees, but it isn't very ice yet.

The same applies to skin doesn't it?
My poor skin is brutally dry and wrinkled in some places because of sun damage and cold damage and lack of nourishment and lack of moisturizing.
hmm....
The moisture level in my skin must be low...
hmm...
It isn't enough to moisturize a little is it?
No.
The moisture-level,
the moisture-quantity,
must be raised to a high level,
to the same level it once was to bring the skin back to that attractive state.
=====
Desert and Earth.
Desert ground is hard, cracked, yellow, dead.
Farmland ground is rich, soft, dark, vital.
To bring desert back to the farm state requires the reintroduction of moisture into the environment.
